Dr. Mary Jean Hughes is the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and Associate Professor in the Regis College MSOT student and has been here since its start in 2015. She graduated from Tufts University and the University of Massachusetts Lowell. She is a registered and licensed occupational therapist and holds a Doctorate in Education. She worked for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for over twenty-five years in psychiatric, pediatric and adult settings in several leadership roles.
She enjoys being a fieldwork educator and supervised hundreds of Level I and Level II FW students as a clinician prior to her full-time academic appointment. She has also worked in private clinical settings including the OTA Koomar Center in Newton, MA and in various public schools including Wakefield, Watertown, Belmont, Norwood and currently in Concord public schools. Her educational area of interest is in helping students with accommodation so they can succeed in level II FW. She really enjoys matching students to fieldwork sites where they succeed. She is an active member of the New England Occupational Therapy Education Council (NEOTEC). In her leisure time she enjoys the great outdoors including jogging, hiking and golfing.
