Credit for Prior Learning (CPL) and Work Experience

At Regis, we understand that education happens inside and outside the classroom, and your work and lived experience can contribute significantly to your qualifications and readiness to complete a bachelor's degree. We are committed to recognizing the value of your educational and professional experiences and translating them into college credits.

A review of your credits for prior learning will include the following:

  • Professional Training: Students can receive transfer credit for professional training that can be documented through licenses, certificates, and letters verifying the training content and time involved. Students can earn a maximum of 15 credits from professional training.
  • Military service: applicable skills earned during service

Once the CPL assessment is completed, which aligns with the best practices of the Council on the Assessment of Experiential Learning (CAEL), our team will confirm how many credits can be transferred and credited towards your degree completion goal. All credit awarded for prior learning is considered transfer credit.
