Regis is pleased to announce the appointments of Dan Leahy to Associate Vice President of Mission, Ministry, and Service and Mary Lou Bozza to Director of Mission, Ministry, and Service.
In this new role, Leahy will serve as a catalyst for integrating the values of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston (CSJ) into all aspects of the university community and culture through mission integration, ministry, and service. He will ensure the Regis mission is lived out today and into the future by engaging the community through programming initiatives and resources.
Since Leahy began as Director of the Center for Ministry and Service in 2016, he has developed a deep appreciation for the history, values, and charism of the Sisters and led a Pilgrimage to Ley Puy, France, the birthplace of the Sisters of Saint Joseph, in 2019. He serves as a member of the Mission Committee and was part of the team responsible for updating the Mission statement in 2019. Leahy is present at events, meetings, classes, and workshops to offer reflections and prayer, and offers pastoral care to Regis community members.
Through Leahy’s leadership, the annual service and immersion experiences offered by Regis has expanded and strengthened, bringing the Regis mission and values to various locations including Nicaragua, Peru, Kenya, Los Angeles, the U.S. Mexico border, and the Civil Rights pilgrimage in Georgia and Alabama. In addition, Leahy established a relationship with the Merrimack Valley Food Bank that helps keep the Hospitality Center stocked.
Leahy will lead Regis’ Mission Committee, co-lead the Inclusive Excellence subcommittee of the Board of Trustees, engage with other Mission colleagues in the Association of Colleges of Sisters of St. Joseph (ACSSJ) network, and be Regis’ Mission Integration Facilitator. Leahy has a master’s in religious education and bachelor’s in philosophy and theology, each from Boston College.
Leahy will also continue to oversee the Center for Ministry and Service, which will be renamed the Center for Mission, Ministry, and Service. Mary Lou Bozza will be promoted to Director of Mission, Ministry, and Service. Bozza has served as Assistant Director of Ministry and Service since 2021. She has a master’s of divinity from Yale, and a wealth of experience in higher education, ministry, and with nonprofits.
