Service to the Dear Neighbor is a hallmark of a Regis education; it is one of the core values of the Sisters of St. Joseph that has guided the university since its founding in 1927. Founded nearly a century ago, Regis challenges, inspires, and supports students who are driven by passion, purpose, and a pursuit to positively impact the world. From spending spring break caring for children with disabilities in the Dominican Republic to cleaning up the Highland Forest, our students make the world a better place by their active and willing engagement in service.
Students engage in service not because it is required, rather because members of the Regis community answer a call to serve those in the greatest of need.
In 2023, Regis published its first annual Dear Neighbor Community Service Report that chronicles some of the service endeavors of the university community. This report will be published each year in January to share how Regis students, faculty and staff are impacting the local, regional, and international community.
The university published its first service report in January of 2024 sharing some of the highlights of service projects that were conducted in 2023. These service endeavors include preparing and packing meals at Spread the Bread for families living with chronic illnesses; ‘Giving Kids a Smile’ with free dental services at the Regis Dental Center; and information on how Regis is addressing the acute nursing shortage in New England and nationally. We invite you to download the 2023 report below.
