Regis College received the Insight Into Diversity Magazine 2024 Higher Education Excellence in Diversity (HEED) Award for its dedication and programs that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to diversity and inclusion. This is the fourth year Regis has been named as a HEED Award recipient and one of a handful of Massachusetts’ colleges that were recognized.

"Regis College is honored to again be recognized with the annual HEED Award, which acknowledges the university’s enduring commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable environment for all,” said President Antoinette Hays, PHD, RN. “This recognition reflects the ongoing collective efforts of our community to champion diversity as we form students’ character, instill in them confidence, and prepare them for careers of meaning," said Hays.

According to Insight Into Diversity, the HEED Award is the only national honor recognizing U.S. colleges and universities that demonstrate an outstanding commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive campus environment. The magazine is the oldest and largest diversity-focused publication in higher education.

“At the heart of Regis College’s mission is an emphasis on cultivating an inclusive community and a sense of love and care for the dear neighbor, without distinction,” said Michael McCorvey, Vice President for Inclusive Excellence. “The selection committee for this recognition examines all aspects of the university from admission and hiring practices, to supplier diversity initiatives, to retention and graduation rates, and much more. Given the collective commitment of the university to form a welcoming community of acceptance, this honor is one to be shared across the university.”

“The HEED Award process consists of a comprehensive and rigorous application that includes questions relating to the recruitment and retention of students and employees — and best practices for both — leadership support for diversity, campus culture and climate, supplier diversity, and many other aspects of campus diversity and inclusion,” said Lenore Pearlstein, publisher of Insight Into Diversity magazine. “We take a detailed approach to reviewing each application in deciding who will be named a HEED Award recipient. Our standards are high, and we look for institutions where diversity and inclusion are woven into the work being done every day across their campus.”
