Regis College is proud to announce the university has received the 2019 Presidential Choice Award for outstanding contributions to dental hygiene education by the Massachusetts Dental Hygienists’ Association.

The university recently celebrated the grand opening of the Regis College Dental Center, which serves as a high-tech educational facility and new clinical home for the dental hygiene program. It also provides community members with low-cost oral care.

“This cutting-edge center places Regis in the top tier of dental hygiene programs across the country by providing a real-world setting to prepare our students to enter the workforce immediately after graduation,” said Regis President Antoinette Hays, PhD, RN. “We are proud of all that our faculty and students have accomplished in the short period of time since Regis acquired the program from Mount Ida College.”

The fully equipped center features 20 dental care bays, a full complement of x-ray technology and a laboratory space. The center provides low-cost dental care to patients including dental cleanings and exams, teeth whitening, x-ray services, periodontal assessments and oral cancer screenings. The program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation and offers both associate and bachelor of science degrees in dental hygiene.
