Regis College President Antoinette Hays, PhD, RN, today announced the appointment of Thomas G. Pistorino, MBA, a former CFO of the university, as senior vice president and chief operating officer.

With over 30 years of experience in senior financial leadership roles in higher education and corporate organizations, Pistorino possesses significant knowledge of higher education finance and administration. He previously served as Regis’ Chief Financial Officer from 2001 to 2019 and was most recently the Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer at Dean College. Prior to Dean, he was the Director of Higher Education and Not-For-Profit Consulting at CBIZ and MHM, LLC, where he served higher education clients throughout the northeast. Pistorino was also CFO of Lesley University prior to moving to CBIZ.

“Regis is pleased to welcome back to its leadership team a seasoned higher education professional who will oversee operational aspects of our comprehensive university that builds character and confidence in our students as they are prepared for meaningful careers,” said President Hays. “Tom understands and supports the Regis mission that includes educating the whole person so that our students may go out into the world to make a difference. As the university reaches the midpoint of its strategic plan, One Pride, Many Voices: Owning Our Future, Tom will play a critical role in advancing our institutional priorities.”

“I am grateful and honored to return to Regis and be appointed to a position that will support the implementation phase of the university’s visionary strategic plan,” said Pistorino. “As the university’s Centennial approaches, I look forward to again working with President Hays and her leadership team to position Regis for a strong future of continuing to provide an impactful and transformative education to its undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, and professional studies students.”

Early in his career, Pistorino worked at Canam Steel Corporation as vice president of business development for North America. In 1997, Pistorino transitioned to higher education when he joined Fisher College as comptroller and then to Regis in 2001. While at Regis, Pistorino supported the implementation of growth initiatives such as the transition to a co-educational university with four schools including the launch of online programs and the Regis College Dental Center in Waltham.

Pistorino will re-join the Regis community in August 2024.
